Internship
Are you a TU Delft student interested in doing an internship as part of your study programme? Maybe taking part in a project is of interest to you?
-
At the faculties of Applied Sciences (TNW) and Aerospace Engineering (AE) the internship is a compulsory part of the study. At the other faculties, the internship is often part of the study as a minor (BSc) or elective (MSc).
If you want to do an internship in the Netherlands or abroad with credits, check the possibilities and the conditions set by your study programme. This can be done via your faculty internship page and/or Brightspace course/ organization. Further questions can be directed to your faculty Internship office or coordinator. -
TU Delft as well as all research Universities in the Netherlands (UNL) have introduced one standard internship agreement for internships at Dutch companies.
The new internship agreement makes the arrangements between students, universities, and internship organisations more straightforward.
A standard internship agreement helps students, the private sector and the degree programme know what they can expect.
The agreement sets out clear arrangements on the purpose, supervision, and assessment of the internship as well as student’s rights, including their legal status, and the way disputes are handled.
The UNL internship template is mandatory for all students doing an internship as part of their study programme at Dutch companies.
Students doing an internship abroad should ask for a template 3-party internship agreement from the company and send this template for review to the Internship Office/coordinator. -
Did you know that you can also find a lot of information at the Career Centre at TU Delft?

Their website also offers practical career advice from providing a CV check to Career consultation hours and Career Days. You can check out their website here.

Student Experiences
“Since I have been in China, traveling is not complicated. I took a train from my homecity to Shanghai, usually about two hours.”
“Doing an internship really made me think about my soft skills. I learned a lot about how it is to be an employee and what is expected of you. Moreover, I learned how it is to work in a big company, understand hierarchy within such company and learned a lot about myself.”
“I strongly advise students to do an internship, especially abroad. It helps to get an idea of why we learn certain things in Delft and it defines yourself as a designer to practice your skills in different contexts.”
“For me, this internship was a great experience, it was nice to be out of the University’s life for a while and see that quite some methods and skills from the education showed to be valuable”
