In 2017 TU Delft established the Diversity Office, headed by David Keyson. Consistent with this, diversity prominently features in the TU Delft Strategic Framework 2018-2024, describing it “as a cornerstone for excellence and innovation”, and the first value of the six DIRECT values of TU Delft (Diversity, Integrity, Respect, Engagement, Courage, Trust).
EEMCS Involvement
At the same time that these efforts were being carried out at the TU Delft level, various grassroots initiatives aimed at strengthening diversity and inclusion emerged at the EEMCS faculty. This resulted in the idea to integrate all activities of the faculty in a dedicated EEMCS Diversity and Inclusion Team (EDIT), whose scope will be aligned with the scope of the TU Delft-wide Diversity Office.
The overall aim is to make topics related to diversity, inclusion, and equity more present in discussions throughout all the departments and groups (BSc, MSc, PhD, academic and support staff) of the EEMCS Faculty. The discussions will be carried out through events, but also discussion moments in the Management Team of the faculty and departments, department meetings, and meetings with DE&I stakeholders throughout the faculty.
