Workshop Details
Workshop A: Identities & Inclusion in Education
Hosted by: Annie Aggarwal - Interaction Designer | Project Lead Study Climate Programme, ESA
Mireille Howard-Snels - Senior Policy Officer Education & Students | Diversity & Inclusion at Faculty ME, Initiator & Chair Employee Resource Group DiversAbility at TU Delft
Details: The workshop is designed to stimulate dialogue amongst educators and students to create a more inclusive environment for learning, teaching and working. The session prompts reflection on one’s own personal and social identity aspects that invariably affect daily life experiences in terms of increasing or decreasing challenges. It aims to enable an understanding of diversity through an intersectional lens, to promote awareness and dialogue around privilege and power relations; and how we might address exclusion in our own capacity.
Workshop B: Educator Role in Student Wellbeing
Hosted by: Katie Barry - Educational Psychologist | Study Climate Programme, ESA
Details: Teachers play a pivotal role in fostering learner wellbeing. There is evidence that suggests shifting from a ‘survival of the fittest’ approach to a more caring and supporting educator-student connection can lead to improved student success. However maintaining boundaries is key. During this session, you will reflect on your role as educator in terms of student wellbeing - the ‘if, when and how much I should help’ questions - also taking into account your own wellbeing of course.
Workshop C: My Strengths
Hosted by: hii - TU Delft student-run organization
Details: In this workshop, my strengths, we provide tools to help you think about and map your personal strengths in a creative and open environment. The workshop is divided into three main parts: self-reflection, group discussion, and sharing. Exploring yourself in a group environment can help you get to know yourself and be resilient for future life ups and downs. The workshop is facilitated by students trained by hii in collaboration with TU Delft student psychologists using a mix of creative facilitation and positive psychology.
